	Personal Information: Professional Data: A graduate of Oregon State University and the University of Oregon School of Law, Ms. O'Brien has lived in Portland since 1981. She speaks Spanish and has studied Mandarin Chinese and other languages. She has two children, both born in Portland, who are now adults. Kathleen and a partner started a law practice in NE Portland in 1983. She moved to her present office in 2007. Kathleen O'Brien graduated from Oregon State University with high honors in 1977, and the University of Oregon School of Law on May 17, 1980. While at law school she served on the Oregon Law Review and the Dean Search Committee. Kathleen has served in the Oregon State Bar House of Delegates; on the Board of Directors of Oregon Women Lawyers; and on the Executive Board of the Bar's Section on Disability Law. She is a co-author of Oregon Women and the Law, published in 1997. The legal system requires skillful presentation of a person's story and the important facts that present a claim, whether in a lawsuit or another expression.
